Reid Umstattd is an Austin native and the creative force behind Reid Bros., a project that weaves nostalgic storytelling through the tones of Americana, folk, and rock.

He first came onto the national stage as co-founder and frontman of the alternative rock band Nelo, which formed in 2005 and toured extensively across the U.S., releasing three full-length albums and two EPs on Pedernales Records. After nearly a decade with Nelo, Reid stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist, competing on Season 14 of NBC’s The Voice, where he joined Team Adam Levine and advanced to the Top 24.

In 2019, he released his debut solo EP Pockets of Clouds under his own name. Soon after, he launched the Reid Bros. project—named in homage to his grandparents’ clothing store in small-town Mississippi—and in 2022 released the full-length album Southern Spheres, produced by Brian Douglas Phillips.

Umstattd was named one of 8 finalists in the Texas Songwriters University songwriting contesting 2025, judged by Liz Rose, Jack Ingram and Lori McKenna.  Reid Bros. has been featured multiple times on BMI’s Music Monday Spotify Playlist.

Singles are currently being rolled out ahead of Reid Bros. second full-length album, Life of the Chosen One, again produced by Phillips and set for release on February 13th, 2026.

With his warm, powerful voice and years of experience on stage and in the studio, Reid delivers music with emotional sincerity and depth—connecting with audiences everywhere, from Austin listening rooms to national television.
